Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering about Republican commitment to St Denis, perhaps a reference to his being able to continue preaching even after his head was cut off, certainly an apt metaphor for the idea of self-financing tax cuts. :)
Or St. Hastert, the longest-serving (possibly in two senses) Republican Speaker of the House. But that commitment never waned.
